A well-kept secret of the San Bernardino National Forest, Lake Arrowhead is an idyllic nature escape, and Our Secret Getaway provides the perfect setting for your retreat.

Let the rest and relaxation begin as you step inside to cozy, cabin inspired interiors. The home’s entry-level living space is grounded by a stone, wood-burning fireplace surrounded by comfortable couch seating. The open concept flows right into the kitchen with rich wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and barstool seating for 4. This fully equipped kitchen serves as a dual gathering space and functional food preparation area. Formal meals can be hosted at the dinner table with seating for 6, or take your meal outside to seating on the balcony for true al fresco dining.

The home’s bottom level is an epic game and movie room where you’re sure to make some of the trip’s best memories. A large sectional faces a smart tv and second stone fireplace. This area is perfect for movie nights or bring your gaming console to play on the large screen. The games continue at the foosball table as well as the high-top card table. The room is stocked with a number of games and movies to get the fun started. Additionally, make use of the wet bar and easy outdoor access through the walk-out door.

This home sleeps up to 8 guests between 3 private bedrooms.

Bedroom #1 is the primary suite with a King size bed, smart tv, and direct access to a private balcony with tree-filled views. The room also has an ensuite bathroom with shower/tub combo.

Bedroom #2 is furnished with a set of bunk beds, a twin size bed on top and a full size bed on bottom. The room has an additional twin size bed.

Bedroom #3 has a twin size bed and a full size bed.

THINGS TO NOTE:
- To ensure compliance with local city and county regulations, every individual, regardless of age (including infants and children), is included in the total occupancy count. Reservations exceeding the maximum allowed occupancy for this property cannot be accepted.
- The home has 2 additional full bathrooms, each with a walk-in shower.
- Parking spaces for 3 vehicles are available in the semi-circular driveway in front of the home.
- Please note that this home can accommodate up to 2 Dogs, with an additional Pet Fee of $35 per pet/per day. This fee is not included in your final booking price. If you are bringing Dogs, please contact our Customer Care Team after booking to pay the pet fee.

This location is also ideal for its close proximity to nearby mountain resorts with thrilling ski runs in the winter and serviced mountain biking and scenic hiking in the summer. Snow Valley Mountain Resort is just 30 minutes away with trails for every level and the only chairlift sledding area in Southern California. 20 minutes away, enjoy the fun and entertainment at Sky park Santa’s Village. Around the holidays, this property transforms into a nostalgic Old-World Christmas in the woods with shopping, dining, and outdoor activities like ice skating. Santa can be found here year-round, even in the summer when professionally designed bike trails and zip lines are a main attraction.

House rules

  1. HOUSE RULES: IMPORTANT - must read before booking!
  2. - ARRIVAL TIME: 4:00 PM
  3. - DEPARTURE TIME: 10:00 AM
  4. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with San Bernardino County’s Being a Good Neighbor Policy. San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and Property Management can evict unruly guests who blatantly disregard the following rules without a refund. The minimum fine for violating the stated rules is $1000. All guests at the time of booking acknowledge and agree to follow all house rules, neighborhood rules, and city laws and ordinances.
  5. - OCCUPANCY: Do not exceed maximum occupancy at any time during your stay. Children are counted in total occupancy. You may not have additional guests during the day. You must be 21 years old or older to book this property.
  6. - PARKING: Street and yard parking is not allowed, please park in the driveway (or garage). or you will be fined $1000 - $5000. Your vehicle may be towed at your own expense. 4WD, AWD, and chains are required for travel during the winter months. You will need them to access the property during the winter months.
  7. - NO EVENTS OR PARTIES ALLOWED
  8. - NO SMOKING, NO VAPING, NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES
  9. - NO UNAUTHORIZED PET: (If this home is dog friendly): This home can accommodate up to 2 licensed dogs. Please notify us ahead of time if you plan to bring your furry friend. We charge $35 per night, per dog and you MUST pay the pet fee prior to arrival. They must be licensed, leashed outdoors, stay off the furniture, and never be left unattended. We supply bags for you to pick up your dog’s waste. You are responsible for all pet-related damage. (If not dog friendly): Unauthorized pets will result in a fine and immediate eviction.
  10. - NOISE CURFEW: This home is in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Please respect the neighbors' privacy. The noise curfew is strictly enforced between 10 pm to 7 am, this includes spa usage. Amplified music is not permitted to be heard beyond the property line 24/7.
  11. - TRAVEL INSURANCE: You should purchase travel insurance, as we do not refund for COVID, inclement weather, road closures, evacuations, power outages, bugs, pollen, etc.
  12. - WINTER INFO: During the winter months, Caltrans requires all vehicles to carry chains, including 4WD and AWD vehicles. You will need 4WD, AWD, or chains to access the property and parking areas. The driveway will be clear of snow for your arrival to the best of our ability. There are shovels to use for your departure should it snow during your stay. Firewood is not provided. Power outages can occur and are a risk when visiting Big Bear.
  13. - AIR CONDITIONING: Most mountain homes do NOT have air conditioning. Please inquire before you book if it’s important to you.
  14. - HIGH FIRE RISK: San Bernardino Mountains is a high-risk area. Fireworks, wood fire pits, improper disposal of cigarette butts, charcoal BBQs are strictly prohibited. You will be fined and/or prosecuted.
  15. - WILDLIFE/MOUNTAIN LIFE: Bears, deer, donkeys, racoons, squirrels, mice, spiders, bats, flies, moths, ants, and other wildlife frequent this area so make sure to lock up the property and your vehicle. We utilize pest control services to control indoor pests as much as possible, but they exist in the mountains! We will not refund for wildlife in or near the home. Please keep doors closed to keep them from coming inside.
  16. - DAMAGE WAIVER: Your booking includes an Accidental Damage Waiver which covers you for anything seen as accidental. You will be charged for anything seen as neglectful or intentional. It’s best to report all damage to us when it occurs and be respectful of our home.
  17. - SECURITY/CAMERAS: This home has a security system, exterior cameras and/or noise decibel monitoring systems to ensure your safety. There are no interior cameras.
  18. - GUEST SATISFACTION: Grand Welcome inspects the property prior to your arrival. If you have any issues, please contact us so we can handle them when you are here to ensure your stay exceeds your expectations. We will make every reasonable effort to efficiently make the repair. If we are alerted to issues after checking out, you may not be refunded so it’s important to report them right away.

  20. - BE RESPONSIBLE: This cabin is privately owned. The homeowner and property manager are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or illness that occur; damage to, or theft or loss of personal items (if found, shipping is at your expense, minimum of $50); wild or domestic animals in the area; and acts of nature.

A Lovely Family & Friend Stay

We stayed here over a four-day long weekend. A lovely, unassuming home with a split-level design that is particularly suited for families with children or those looking for two different living room spaces. The pros: The home was spacious, clean, and accommodated two families well. It is close to restaurants and food options while still being in a residential area. The layout: while the children played or watched TV in the "man cave," parents could socialize in the kitchen/living room while not being completely isolated from the kids. The cons: No washer or dryer were available -- which is not a big problem in short stays if you are aware of and prepared for it. We did experience a minor challenge with one of the 3 bathrooms that was quickly addressed by management. Not a deal breaker. Overall: We would consider coming back to this property again.
