Take a Walk Along the River

Tampa’s Riverwalk, a 2.6-mile winding walkway along the waterfront, is a popular spot for tourists and locals. Walkers, bikers, or scooter riders can pop in and out to grab a drink or a bite to eat at the bars and restaurants lining the water, spend a day visiting one or more attraction, or plan a leisurely day at the local parks.

Sparkman Wharf, an outdoor waterfront dining hall of sorts, brings a mix of cuisines from several of Tampa’s top chefs enclosing a biergarten featuring beer from local breweries. At night, the space comes alive with concerts, movies, and of course the Tampa Bay Lightning games when in season.

A 360-degree bar that also doubles as an excursion center, Sail Plaza is the perfect place to have a drink after a day paddleboarding or riding water bikes. For even more culinary and water sport options, Armature Works boasts a public market bringing more than a dozen local restaurants into one centralized food hall, with paddleboard rentals and water taxis nearby.

If you’re looking for a place to take your four-legged friends, Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, located just across from the David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts, offers a dog park as well as various outdoor sports courts, and a water playground.

Day or night, the Riverwalk is the perfect place to experience Tampa by both land and sea.
