STR Regulations Update in Bend

Bend, OR has recently implemented vacation rental laws in order to regulate the growing number of Airbnb, VRBO and Homeaway listings. The laws require all short-term rentals to be licensed, with a fee of $50 per listing, as well as an annual inspection every three years. Property owners are also required to keep records of occupancy and pay a Transient Room Tax at the rate of 11.8% of the rent charged for each day of occupancy. With these regulations in place, visitors can be sure that any rental accommodation they book will meet the city’s standards for safety and comfort.
