Santa Barbara Wine Country

Santa Barbara Wine Country

One of the best activities to include on your Santa Barbara vacation is visiting the many wineries.  Wine lovers rejoice; the Santa Barbara Wine Country has a vineyard or winery for even the most selective tastes.  During your wine adventures, we highly suggest going prepared. Most vineyards and wineries do not have food options, so pack a snack or a whole meal!  While several of these options are within walking distance, if your adventure involves a car, be sure to have a designated driver or consider using Uber WINE â€“ where your group will be paired with a driver for the entire day of your wine tasting.

Urban Wine Trail

If your Santa Barbara vacation rental is in downtown, you are in for a treat with 28 wineries at your disposal.  The Urban Wine Trail is perfect for both novices and connoisseurs learning and tasting the wide variety of offered wines.  If you need a quick break between wineries, stroll along the shops or walk down to the sandy shores of East Beach. A bonus, the Urban Wine Trail is pet friendly.

Santa Ynez Valley

Hop in an Uber and head out to the Santa Ynez Valley for a true rural vineyard experience.  A scenic 45-minute drive will bring you to lush gardens surrounding 15 wineries within walking distance of each other.

Los Olivos

Well-known by wine lovers, these streets are filled with 20+ tasting rooms, restaurants, shopping, and friendly faces.

TIP: We love Carhartt Family Wines.  Don’t let the small building steer you away, the patio around back is rather large!

Solvang

This Danish-inspired town is right past Santa Ynez.  While there are plenty of tasting rooms, even non-wine tourist will enjoy this town.  Stop in one of the pastry shops for a treat or sit down for a Danish meal in one of the many restaurants.
