This adorable little 821 sqft cabin has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps up to 6 people and has parking for 2 cars. The owners completely remodelled the kitchen and bathrooms giving the home a modern mountain flare. The young family that owns this home named their abode, “Whispering Pines Cabin” because it’s a quiet retreat for them, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. They like to sit out on their back deck and listen to the trees sway in the wind. They hope their home brings you as much peace, as it does them.

HOME NUANCES
- If bringing a pet please contact us to pay the $50.00 per pet fee.
- Pet rules: 1. Please pick up after your pet or you may incur a clean up fee. 2. Do not leave your pets unattended while in the home which is when pet damage is likely. 3. Please keep an eye on your pets while in the backyard as there could be holes in the fence or wildlife close by. 3. Keep your pets off the furniture and bedding as pet hair creates a lot of extra cleaning for the team. 4. You are financially responsible for any and all pet related damage including carpet stains and scratches on doors and furniture. 5. 2 DOGS MAX
- This home has a gas wall heater in the living room. It takes a min to get going but once it does, it’s nice and toasty in there! Please open bedroom doors while the home is heating up to allow heat to disperse throughout the home.
In addition, there are floor heaters in each bedroom. Setting them to comfort or low setting will take the chill off the room. They can sometimes work too well, so turn them off after the room warms up to avoid overheating.

TAHOE RENTAL ORDINANCE
The following laws were set forth by the county and apply to every home in Tahoe. They were put in place to keep Lake Tahoe an enjoyable and safe place to visit for years to come! 🙂
1. The hot tub cannot be used after 10pm (if this home has one)
2. 10pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all rentals.
3. Trash cannot be left outside and must go into the bear box.
4. We cannot host extra people or allow parties.
5. We cannot accommodate extra cars, parking on the street or dirt.
PLEASE NOTE: Neighbors may alert the police who will issue fines to guests found to be in violation. In order to protect this owner’s permit, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave if this happens.

PET FEE
There is a $50/day pet fee per dog. 2 dogs max. Please contact us after you book to pay this fee. Thank you!

PET RULES
1. 2 Dogs max - unless otherwise approved.
2. Must pick up all poop or there may be a clean up charge.
3. Do not leave pet unattended unless in a crate (this is when damage happens).
4. Keep dogs leashed while on walks in the neighborhood.
5. Keep pets off furniture and bedding or there may be a pet hair removal charge.
6. Please do your best to wipe your pets paws when they come inside to avoid carpet stains.
**You are responsible for any and all pet related damage including carpet cleans and door scratch repair.

IMPORTANT INFO
- QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD: In Tahoe it’s so quiet at night that you could hear a pin drop! As a result, we can only host quieter groups that will abide by all of the county laws. Our guests are normally fine as long as they head inside or to the casinos after 10pm. Appreciate your understanding!
- KEEP TAHOE BLUE: Please help us keep Tahoe a natural wonder by appropriately disposing of trash when visiting our beaches and trails. If you pack it in, please pack it out.
- REVIEWS: We kindly ask for understanding and compassion when sharing feedback about this home, just as we strive to approach responding to reviews with empathy. We understand that experiences can vary, and what might not meet one person's expectations could exceed another person’s expectations. Your reviews have a lasting impact on the home and its owner, who are real people behind the scenes. We genuinely value your input and appreciate constructive feedback that can help us enhance our offerings.
- TRAVEL INSURANCE: We highly recommend that all of our lovely guests purchase travel insurance as we normally do not refund for Covid, smoke, fires, weather, snow storms, road closures, etc.
- WINTER TRAVEL ADVISORY: After the historic Winter of 2023, we recommend 4WD vehicles with snow tires, tire chains and experience driving in the snow. Emphasis on snow tires. Tahoe roads are icy and power outages are common. Please always wear snow boots and walk with care on icy pathways.
- BBQ/DECKS IN WINTER: Due to snow levels and freezing temps, BBQs are not serviced and decks are not shovelled during the Winter but if you can dig it out and there is propane - feel free to use!
- LATE CHECK OUT: Please let us know 24 hours prior to check out, if you wish to request a late check out. First hour is free then $25/hour after that, not to exceed 1pm. Please note our cleaners sometimes travel for up to 1 hour to clean this home so we ask that you please respect the 10am check out time.
- NO AC: Like most homes in Tahoe, there is no AC but we do provide plenty of fans.
- HIGH FIRE RISK: Lake Tahoe is a high-risk fire area. Fireworks, wood fire pits, smoking/improper disposal of cigarette butts and charcoal bbq’s are prohibited.
- BLACK BEARS: Black bears inhabit Lake Tahoe and are attracted to food and trash. Always lock your car doors, roll up windows and view from afar. Please do not feed our bears.
- TOWELS: We supply one bath towel, one wash cloth per occupant and then one hand towel per bathroom.
- SECURITY: Most of our homes have exterior-only security cameras and noise decibel monitoring systems to ensure we are in compliance with the county ordinance but we take our guests privacy VERY seriously. There is never indoor cameras. Most owners only look to see bears and snow levels at their homes 🙂
- MOUNTAIN CRITTERS: It’s not uncommon at any home in Tahoe to find little mountain mice, spiders, spider webs, ants, mosquitos, etc. Our homes have on-going extermination services but despite our best efforts, these little critters might make their way inside. If found it doesn’t mean a home is dirty, let us know and we will do our best to mitigate such findings.

Thank you and happy travels!

WINTER TRAVEL ADVISORY
A storm in Tahoe can drop up to 2 feet or more in 24 hours so if you haven’t been to Tahoe during a heavy Winter, please take note. The roads and driveways in Tahoe are only plowed when snow accumulates to more than 6 inches so if it snowed less than that or you are coming during an active storm, you will arrive to snow on the roads leading up to this home AND on the driveway. Since street parking is not allowed during the Winter, you will need to drive over the snow either using chains or with your 4WD engaged (or both) and onto the driveway. There are also shovels provided for shoveling. Especially after the historic Winter of 2023, we do not recommend coming to Tahoe unless you have a higher clearance 4WD vehicle with snow tires, tire chains and experience driving in the snow. Always bring chains no matter what kind of car you have. Even if it’s not actively snowing, Tahoe roads are steep and icy. Power outages are also common. The Grand Welcome difference is we have a very experienced local team who are here to help you during your stay – as long as safety allows. If we can get to you, we will come help! Not all hosts have this kind of local support so this is the benefit to booking a Grand Welcome home!

IMPORTANT INFO
* CONTACT US: Our preferred method of contact is through the app via messaging. In case there is a delay in response time, we also have a dedicated local team on stand by for your needs who work daily 9am to 5pm. If during those times a problem arises, please text them directly. We will email you their phone number. They prefer to text as they are in the field with limited cell service most of the time. After 5pm, please message us on the app or call our customer care team.
* QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD: In Tahoe it’s so quiet at night that you could hear a pin drop! As a result, we can only host quieter groups that will abide by all of the county laws. Our guests are normally fine as long as they head inside or to the casinos after 10pm. Appreciate your cooperation!

* TOWELS: We supply one bath towel, one wash cloth per permitted occupant and then one hand towel per bathroom. We do this to limit laundry for the cleaners and it’s less wear and tear on the washer/dryer. If you feel you will need more towels, please bring them. Hot tub and beach towels are usually not provided.

Great cabin for a weekend getaway

by Stephen
Really cozy property with everything you might need for a stay in South Lake Tahoe. Location is great for skiing, about 20-25 minutes from the California Lodge base of Heavenly, and the big backyard was thoroughly enjoyed by our dog. Will definitely be coming back for future stays!

Whispering Pines Perfection

by Shane
Everything was wonderful from start to finish. The property was a mirror image to what I saw online. All was as advertised and even better! I would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy spot in a nice quiet neighborhood but within just a short hop to downtown South Lake and the lake itself. 10/10 would book again

Exciting and much needed mini-staycation.

by Julie L.
Our family of 5 really, really needed this short getaway to Tahoe. The home was very clean and tidy. The tops of appliances, furniture, and corners of each room were pristine. I esp. loved seeing the vaccum lines on the carpet when we checked-in ;). My kids kept saying how they loved the home and had imaginary play in the backyard for hours- knee-high in fresh snow. They even built "snow sculptures" and explored the "forest" thay was covered with snow. We were 10-15 minutes drive away to several accessible mountains to go sledding. We esp. loved walking right up to the shoreline of Lake Tahoe as it was snowing and just taking in the wonder of this beautiful, natural landmark. More than anything, we were very grateful to have a quiet and secluded home that was pet-friendly so that our sweet doodle could join us for family time and memories. Thank you!

Relaxing Getaway

by Tiffany L.
My husband and I wanted a week away from our busy lives. This cabin was perfect. It was comfortable, cozy and a quiet neighborhood. It was a 10 minute drive to Lake Tahoe. The appliances were new and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots & pans, cookie sheets and utensils to cook our own meals. The large smart tv's were really nice and had access to Netflix, Disney +, Hulu and more so we had unlimited movie choices. The fenced backyard was really private to enjoy feeding the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. They even provided a bird feeder. We didn't bring a dog or children but they had things available to take care of them if you did. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect getaway in a great location

by Charlyn M.
Perfect space for our family of 4 and 1 year old lab. The rooms and bathrooms are conveniently located on opposite sides of the house and the washer & dryer came in handy after a day at the lake. The large fenced-in yard gave our lab a lot of room to stretch her legs during rounds of fetch, and us the peace of mind after seeing several coyotes roaming the surrounding neighborhood. The location of the home is a few minutes away from golf, groceries, restaurants, casinos and lake!

Another Excellent Experience at Whispering Pines Cabin

by Megan D.
We previously stayed at this cabin last year and enjoyed our time again. I truly think this cabin is in the best location of Lake Tahoe. You have access to excellent hiking, not just in the Tahoe region, but also in the Kit Carson area, which has some spectacular hikes. You also have easy access to downtown South Tahoe, but you are far enough away so you don’t have to deal with the noise and excessive traffic. Washoe Meadows, a favorite of our pups, is virtually in this cabin’s backyard, and Fallen Leaf Lake is 10 minutes away. The owners have done a great job creating a warm and inviting cabin full of charm that reflects the mountain location. I dealt with the owner directly on a minor issue and she was lovely. It’s clear she loves her mountain retreat and wants you to equally have a great time in her beautiful forest retreat. We highly recommend this cabin as the ideal base camp for your Tahoe vacation.

Small Getaway

by Cindy B.
Enjoyed the location as it was far enough from the center but close drive if needed to go in. Loved the nearby hikes, our dog enjoyed it there. There was great communication with the prop manager and owner. Still gave them an overall 5 since they were so responsive on sending someone to clean up the backyard after prev visitors not cleaning up after their pups. Would stay here again!

Washoe Meadows Retreat

by Megan D.
Cabin was beautifully decorated with forest-themed decor. Perfect size for my husband, and I, and our two dogs. Great fenced in yard for pups or if you have kiddos. Backs up to Washoe Meadows which is a delight if you like to run (or chase chipmunks if you are a fur guest). Very close to Fallen Leaf Lake - a perfect place to swim. Perfect landing pad if you enjoy heading down South to Markleeville and Kit Carson for day hikes! Very, very clean and up to date! Owners have done a great job creating a welcoming environment that fits the forest/lake theme.
