Rocky Lodge is just 20 minutes from the West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, but several hiking trails within the park or with awesome views of the park are even closer than that. Black Canyon Rock, High View, and South Park Peak are all 5-10 minutes away. Joshua Tree has many additional famous hikes, scenic lookout points, rock climbing locations, and horseback riding trails. After finishing your choice of daytime activities, be sure to stay late enough for the famed stargazing. Yucca Valley itself has wonderful nature walks, local shopping, and popular restaurants. Many find this location ideal for its proximity and easy access to Palm Springs, Coachella, Big Bear, the Colorado River, and the casinos and resorts of Laughlin, Nevada.
