Surrounded by the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains, Palisades Point is an idyllic all-season get away in Truckee, Northern California. Close to Lake Tahoe, America’s largest Alpine lake, it offers scenic campsites, hiking trails and tranquil fishing spots.

The home tastefully combines the earthly charm of an Alpine log cabin with the luxuries of modern travel. The living room is bright and roomy, with high wooden ceilings, comfy leather couch and stylish wood furniture. Large-framed windows allow ample natural light and a wood-burning stove is perfect for leisurely evenings indoors. A smart TV adds to the entertainment quotient. The living room opens onto a large deck with views of the surrounding forest.

The kitchen is well stocked and fully functioning. Tile countertops and wood cabinetry go with the cabin-in-the-woods feel of the house. Appliances include a stove and oven, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher and a microwave. A six-seater dining table is ideal for family meals overlooking the verdant flora outside. The home sleeps six guests; two in each bedroom and two more in the pull-out sleeper couch in the living room.

- Bedroom #1 has a queen size bed with a forest view.
- Bedroom #2 also has a queen size bed.

THINGS TO NOTE:

There is a sofa-sleeper in the living room for two.

The home has 2 bathrooms, both with shower/tub combo.

Washer/dryer is provided.

Parking is available on-site for 2 vehicles.

A small mountain town with a big city heart, Truckee is a haven for adrenaline junkies. Go hiking on scenic Donner Lake Rim Trail (Trailhead Bermgarten) which is less than a mile from the home. Show off your skills at the sprawling golf courses of Coyote Moon Golf Course or Tahoe Donner Association Golf Course, both less than a 5-minute drive away. Also, swim, boat or kayak nearby Donner Lake, approximately 15-minutes away, or cross country ski the trails adjacent to Donner Lake.

Historic downtown Truckee is only a 10-minute drive away. Bustling with entertainment and cultural activities, you can indulge in shopping, casual and fine dining and historic walking tours.

In under 25 minutes, you can be in Northstar California Resort - a popular destination for ski enthusiasts and mountain bikers. Other attractions at the resort include rejuvenating spas, luxurious pools and kid camps.

Appealing to those seeking a more calm and quiet environment this home has something for everyone; homebodies, adrenaline junkies and those in between.

**Local Ordinances**
Vacation rentals at Lake Tahoe are heavily regulated by local authorities. Occupancy, parking, trash, hot tubs, exterior lights, and noise requirements are non-negotiable. Our homes are not suitable for parties (even small ones), corporate retreats, weddings, receptions, afterburns, or any other gathering that exceeds occupancy.

Vehicles must be parked in designated areas. No street parking allowed. Do not block access to neighboring homes or driveways. No parking on lawns or dirt. No RVs, campers, trailers, off-road vehicles (including snowmobiles) or boats may be parked at the home.

Quiet hours are 10pm to 8am, daily. During quiet hours, no outside noise, lights (except those immediately used for safety), or hot tub use is allowed. Please move your gathering inside the home and close doors and windows so the sound doesn’t travel through the neighborhood.

Guests who violate any requirement may be subject to termination of the rental agreement, up to and including removal from the home without refund, and $2,000 in assessed fines.

**Travel Insurance**
We highly recommend purchasing trip insurance in the event your plans change. Please review the contracted terms and conditions closely when booking.

**Weather**
The weather can change rapidly. Please plan and pack accordingly.

**Driving Conditions**
Guests are advised to check weather and road conditions up to a week in advance of your arrival. We encourage guests to bring paper maps as cell coverage may be limited or strained due to demand.

**Utilities**
The local infrastructure, especially power and internet, are designed for a small population. High demand, especially on weekends and holidays, or environmental conditions including wind, fire, and human negligence can create disruptions in the delivery of power, gas, water, and internet to the region. We encourage guests to exercise patience and plan accordingly when visiting the area. Due to the nature of these outages, Grand Welcome may not be able to provide information regarding anticipated restoration times.

**Property Amenities**
We strive to ensure that all of our listings are current and advertised amenities are available. If you discover that an item that was advertised is not available, please notify us immediately and we will attempt to resolve the issue. If the item is not advertised, it is generally not available, even if you find it in the home (garage, hot tub, grill, snowblower, etc.)

**Starter Supplies**
Grand Welcome provides a small starter set of guest consumables. We encourage guests to bring any additional supplies they may need. Starter consumables include: 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 pump of hand soap, and wastebasket liner in each bathroom. Full bathrooms also include 1 pump each of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Kitchens offer 2 rolls of paper towels, a small bottle of dish soap, a fresh sponge, a few loads of dishwasher detergent, and a few trash bags. If your home has access to laundry machines, Grand Welcome also provides a few loads of laundry detergent.

**Winter Access**
Grand Welcome ensures regular snow removal for driveways, access to the front door, and the bear box (trash enclosure). Additionally, if the home has a hot tub, there will be a pathway from the home to the hot tub.

Please note that some snow and ice may be present at the property when you arrive. Shovels and ice melt are provided for your convenience.

Decks, patios, and balconies are cleared as needed, but are not available October through May.

Grills and outdoor furniture are stored for the winter and are available May through October.

**HOA Amenities**
If the home has access to HOA specific amenities such as a clubhouse, communal pool, fitness center, etc., Grand Welcome will provide access. Since these amenities are managed by a third-party, Grand Welcome cannot guarantee availability.

**Fires**
Fire restrictions are in effect year-round. No outside wood fires, campfires, or charcoal grills. During red flag warnings, all outdoor fires, including gas grills and firepits are prohibited. Guests are responsible for checking weather conditions to know when red flag warnings are in effect.

**Bears**
Bears live here, as do mountain lions, bobcats, eagles, coyotes, and a whole host of other creatures. We encourage you to observe them from a distance. Never try to pet or take photos with wildlife. Do not feed wildlife. Lock all vehicles and doors and windows the home. Grand Welcome does not refund for any personal damage caused by wildlife.

**Trash**
All trash must be secured in the bear box at the home or the communal dumpster. Do not leave any trash outside. If you have extra trash, please notify us so we can assist with removal.

**Accidental Damage Waiver**
Each reservation includes a non-refundable damage waiver. This is meant to cover the cost of accidental damage in the home; it does not cover deliberate/negligent damage. An example of accidental damage would be stained bath towels from cleaning a spill in the kitchen. An example of deliberate damage would be taking amenity keycards to use the communal pool after checkout. Guests will be held financially responsible for all deliberate damage. If you discover damage in the home, please report it immediately.

**Grand Welcome**
We want guests to have a Grand Welcome every time they stay with us. If something isn’t right, please call our Customer Care team so we can resolve it.

Cabin in a good location, but needs a little attention

by Andrea C.
Four of us (two couples) stayed here for a nice long weekend in the Tahoe area. The cabin was just as pictured, a little dated, but plenty of clean linens and a decently well stocked kitchen. They even had some baggies, plastic wrap, and basic oils and spices available. They also provided dish soap and laundry detergent which is a nice plus! It was a hot weekend and since the house had been closed up, it was hot inside until the first night. If you visit during a hot month, bring some fans with you, they had a small one in one of the bedrooms, but the two box fans we brought with us were a huge help in cooling the place off. There were a handful of things about the property that need to be addressed. We shared most of these with the Grand Welcome team during our stay. - Shelves in pantry very dirty - need to be fully wiped down - Cereal and crumbs on the kitchen table when we arrived - Most glasses had an oily residue on them - we washed each one before using - Light in pantry/laundry area doesn’t work (it’s the socket or something, we tried a working lightbulb in there) - Socket under the bar/kitchen pass through doesn’t work - Also missing lightbulb and at bottom of staircase (outside) - this felt unsafe at night - Outside stairs are also a bit old/slanted - not the easiest/safest to navigate - Lockbox instructions in welcome email do not match the instructions in the welcome text message (did get help when we called the number provided for assistance) - Cobwebs on light fixture over the dining table (it’s not up too high to reach) - Screen door to porch had holes where bugs kept getting in It would also make the place a bit more comfortable if they added a couple of chairs to the living area. We ended up bringing in a couple of chairs from the deck so the four of us could use the area to sit and visit. Overall, it seemed like the place has been used/rented for years, but when this company took over, they didn’t deep clean or address some basic maintenance issues. I hope they will do so before the next renters use the place.
