Located on the water's edge in scenic Kailua-Kona, this vacation home features oceanfront views and is perfect for a family or group of friends. The condominium complex is beautifully landscaped, fastidiously maintained, and blissfully tranquil. Kona Reef is in a terrific location. It's just a quick drive to picturesque Kailua Village with plenty of shops, seaside restaurants, nightlife, and a beach great for kids or the kids at heart. While staying at this unit you will enjoy 180-degree panoramic views of the dramatic Kona coastline and magnificent sunsets in the evening.
This tropically decorated home showcases an open floor plan with a living room, kitchen, and dining room. The living room has seating circling a TV. Unwind on the couch and catch a movie on TV or the DVD player. WIFI, a stereo, split system air conditioning, and washer/dryer are provided to ensure you feel at home. A desk is also tucked away in the corner in case anyone needs to get a little work done.
To the right is the dining area. The dining table has seating for six, so everyone can gather for a home cooked meal together. The kitchen is right behind this area. A chef will love cooking in this well-equipped kitchen. There are stainless steel appliances and granite countertops ready to help you cook anything from a scrumptious snack to a gourmet meal. The built-in breakfast bar has two additional seats.
These rooms all open to an expansive private lanai. Patio seating is arranged outside, so you can dine or indulge in a pina colada while the sun drops behind the ocean before you. Leave the lanai doors open to let a coastal breeze inside. Imagine relaxing and listening to the rustling palms and the gentle surf breaking below.
Down the hall is the master bedroom with a King-sized bed, ceiling fan, TV, and private bathroom. The master bathroom is prepared with a large standalone shower and vanity. The second bedroom holds a Queen-sized bed, ceiling fan, and TV. The last bedroom is suitable for housing any kids you are traveling with as it has two Twin-sized beds and a TV. Two guest bathrooms are available with shower/tub combos. The AC is only in the master bedroom.
The condominium complex has several other amenities to use during your stay. There is an oceanfront swimming pool and hot tub, sundeck, barbecue pavilion, delightful tide pools, 24-hour security, and free covered parking. You will find all the conveniences of home plus the comforts of a first-class resort.

The neighboring lanais are being painted so there will be people working outside the units. Prices have been adjusted to reflect the noise inconvenience.
This home will be stocked with a starter set of consumables such as soaps and paper products. Guests are advised to either bring or purchase additional after arrival.
**The air conditioning is 3 split systems. One is located in the dining room, one in the master bedroom, and one in the living room. Bedrooms 2 & 3 do not have this system, but will easily cool down with the doors left open.

Perfect location

My whole fam stayed here for spring break. My hubs and i had the front room, my sister and BIL had the master, and my mother and niece shared the room with the split beds. And every pair has a bathroom near them.It's withing walking distance of the boardwalk and Kona Inn shopping center. I recommend renting a car but you can walk along Alii drive to get to lots of places. We left reuseable bags to use on the island bc they've banned plastic bags and you'll have to buy reuseable ones at the store otherwise. This includes Walmart, Target, etc.I will say there are lots of light switches and we had to figure them out but we got there. Also the appliances are new and smarter than most. There are instructions for the stove/oven and it took a couple tries for the diswasher. The lanai (balcony) is prime sunset viewing and also a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. 10/10 would recomend

Best location ever!

Our family loved this condo. The location is the best on the island. We enjoyed coffee in the morning and beautiful sunsets in the evening on the lanai. The condo is very well-equipped, from the kitchen to beach accessories. The only criticism I might have is the air conditioners. It was very warm and humid when we were there and the units had a hard time keeping up and really didn’t cool very well. This wasn’t an issue during the day, but it was very warm at night. There are several fans in the unit so we were able to move them around and cool it down at night.
We will definitely rent this unit again!

Spacious condo with stellar views

We had a fabulous time at this condo! The views are even more incredible than the pictures online. The pocket doors that slide all the way open were an unexpected surprise. There was plenty of room for the 3 adults and 3 teenagers in our group. Contrary to other reviews, there was no issue of the secondary bedrooms being uncomfortable due to no AC units. All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans as promised and they also have fans in the closets that could be plugged in for additional cooling. Twin beds were small even for my 5'4 mom though.Although we spent most of our time sightseeing, the living areas were spacious enough for all of us. The only thing that could have been improved is the TV cabinets in the living room and master bedroom. The TV's are both set back far in the cabinets so that you could only see the TV clearly if you were directly in front of it. It would be nice if you could slide the TV out so there is no obstructed view. The kitchen had all necessary amenities. We could have cooked a full meal if we wanted.
It was great to have a closet full of beach equipment too-2 chairs, umbrella, multiple coolers to choose from. We were able to go to the beach without purchasing anything but food and sunscreen. My husband and son were able to snorkel with the gear we found. If we had young kids they would have loved the sand toys. It was nice to have plenty of beach towels for our group too so we didn't have to take bath towels with us. Having the washing machine and dryer in the condo was great.
The location of the condo was great. We ate at many local places. Make sure to arrive early to put your name in. We encountered a few 2 hour waits. Royal Kona Luau is close too. You can easily walk into Kona town along Alii Dr or the back way through the Royal Kona parking lot that led straight to Huggos and beyond. It was also a short drive to Safeway for supplies.
There was plenty of parking at the location and it was convenient to the main highway for day trips to Volcano National Park and Hilo. We enjoyed the pool for a couple days. There were plenty of chairs and space to spread out. The jacuzzi was great too. It was easy to walk out on the beach and see the tidepools close up.
As mentioned in the title though, the absolute best part of D-22 is the view. We sat out on the lanai for much of the time enjoying the view and sound of the waves. We could listen to our small speaker during quiet time without bothering anyone. Perfect vacation!

They have pretty much everything you need except for air-conditions in the 2 other bedrooms. That was uncomfortable for our friends due to the heat. We made meals using the kitchen, and ate on the balcony dining table. The proximity to Kona was easy walking distance for us. We made use of the stocked cooler, beach chairs, towels, and boogie boards. The pool and hot tub were great too. Parking was easy, always an available spot. Loved the place and want to come back!

Great property with a great location. Easy walk to downtown Kona. Fantastic views from balcony. Easy to just sit and watch the ocean. Also saw dolphins, snorkelers and surfers on most days.. Creme colored carpet which someone had spilled something on in a few places so carpet cleaning may be needed but regardless we would absolutely stay here again. Small sandy beach on the south side of the building. Great if you want to sit in the sand but as with most places near kona, Rocky once you get to the water.

Very pleased with thus unit -complex is older from outside appearance but fully remodeled unit - I usually don't do reviews but this deserves a great one - great location - can walk into Kona in 5 min - fully equipped kitchen -quality pots - nice that had 3 full baths as had 6 people - love the deck -has 4 chairs can overlook and listen to ocean -nice pool. - easy parking garage - quiet - worth the price if have 6 people - only issue was a a parade in town and back at 10 am and was already locked out of condo even thought check out was 11am? I called and told property manager but never heard back - go to beach north and south for easy day trips

Sunsets, surfers, and whale watching from balcony

Costco is located between airport and condo....very convenient. Master bedroom is huge and the other 2 are small. Very clean throughout. Condo had binoculars, games, boogie board, books, dvds, beach towels etc.

Our stay at the Kona Reef Resort was just perfect! The location was the best- within walking distance of Kona and most restaurants, shopping, activities and made the drive to other places a lot easier. I had originally booked a home in captain cook and we stayed there for 3 days before moving to Kona Reef. The facilities were clean, comfy and kept everyone in my group happy- including hard to please teens and my 70-year old mother, and a 9 year old. I would stay here again and recommend it HIGHLY to anyone!
