House was very nice with only a 15 minute walk to the beach, private with beautiful scenery. Would definitely recommend it.

Not recommended for older adults who need to rise in the night to use the restroom. The master is palatial, bedroom 2 is average-sized, and the loft rooms are tiny, not very private, and the bathroom- shared amongst all 3 of the smaller bedrooms- is a perilous trip down metal spiral stairs. The sink taps need repair or replacement, the fireplace isn’t working, the wooden lawn chairs featured as the cover of the listing were not in evidence, and it’s an 8-minute walk to the trail head leading down to the ocean which is another 8-10 minutes away.

A very well equipped home: multiple types of coffee makers, crockpot, tons of glassware and dishes, even a couple sizes of wetsuits! The Sea Ranch community is beautiful and serene. Gorgeous coastal landscape with so much wildlife and the walking/hiking trails are everywhere. Easy access to the beach but if you’re going for a “beach day” you’ll need to drive if you have gear to carry. As a matter of fact, this was a very car-centric trip. Lots of driving to get to the community pool, get into the nearest town for groceries, etc. If you have room, try to get groceries in Santa Rosa, Petaluma (depending on where you’re coming from) because prices are understandably sky high in Gualala and if you can stock up before you arrive then less driving back and forth into town. The community pool/tennis courts were great! Never too crowded and the multiple saunas were a real treat.

We stayed at eight other houses on our great California road trip up Highway 1 and none were as magical as this house. This house has a beautiful vibe. The natural light, the scenery outside, the privacy and quiet neightborhood, the endless gorgeous walking trails. We weren't sure about staying in such a remote area, but we are endlessly glad we did. We didn't want to leave! There were 6 of us, 3 adults and three teenagers, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the peace, the great family kitchen. Absolutely fabulous hosts in the office in Guallala, easy to talk to, and very helpful. Of all the places we stayed, we can't recommend this house enough. The only thing I'd change is the pillows and blankets - they smelled a bit musty through the sheets. The house was clean otherwise. Stunning place. We absolutely loved it.

Perfect home for family. Relatively close to playground and ocean. Kids loved the seals and searching through the tide pools. House was great- just wish there was one more bathroom.

Great home in the middle of sea ranch.

Very comfortable, lovely home. Plenty of room for everyone & more. Kitchen had all items you might need to make meals. We spent 2 nights here & it was a beautiful property. Plenty of beds to accommodate many people, plus extra roll away beds if needed. Sea Ranch is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the ocean and surrounding areas. You won’t be disappointed in this property.

We were very comfortable here. We would definitely return. The fridge should probably be wiped out on the inside and there was one rag on the floor the housekeeper probably dropped while cleaning. No real complaints here.

The house was beautifully decorated, with all the amenities! Comfortable for a family gathering! We will defiantly be back soon!

Beautiful house and area no complaints

It was a great time to get away from the city. The weather was not great but not bad. We were still able to do our walks along the bluff. The grandkids enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach. The house was just enough for all of us, very comfortable, and have toys for the kids. If it was closer to the water it would have been perfect, but the walk to the beach is not at all bad. Close enough to the town of Gualala where we bought groceries. Overall, we were very pleased, and wished we had stayed longer.

The house was beautifully decorated, with all the amenities! Comfortable for a family gathering!

We will defiantly be back soon!

It was a great time to get away from the city. The weather was not great but not bad. We were still able to do our walks along the bluff. The grandkids enjoyed playing in the sand on the beach. The house was just enough for all of us, very comfortable, and have toys for the kids. If it was closer to the water it would have been perfect, but the walk to the beach is not at all bad. Close enough to the town of Gualala where we bought groceries. Overall, we were very pleased, and wished we had stayed longer.

We had a great stay at this house. We were 5 adults, 4 kids plus an infant and it was very spacious and comfortable for us. The views and property are gorgeous, short walk to the beach. The check in/out process was easy. Everything was clean & comfortable and we loved the outdoor sitting spaces. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed except a wine opener and a large stock pot (there was only a medium sized one) so you might want to pack those things. The house had fun toys & games for kids and was great for our crew but I would be nervous to take a toddler there as there are many breakable decorations down low and only glass cups & plates. The loft is divided into 2 separate rooms with doors so that was great for privacy but you will hear any noises in the house from those 2 rooms. The master room is very large & quiet and the other downstairs bedroom is also nice sized & quiet. You can hear the ocean if you open the windows. We had a great stay and we would definitely go back again (except for the long windy drive..)

We really enjoyed our weekend, especially the peaceful surroundings and beautiful coastal hiking. We were 10 people staying at the house. The photos haven't been updated to show the 4th bed in the living room (the other sleeping area has 2 twin beds for a total of 10) there are also 2 rollaways provided if you had extra people although the setup of the living room and loft area doesn't provide for much privacy. The master bedroom and the guest room are the only two private rooms. One thing we noticed and I would recommend they change is that the guest room needs a duvet cover (just a duvet that cannot easily be washed and is re-used is rather gross, and it had a blood stain on it, eeewww). As the other reviewer also noted, the check-in process is not ideal. They require you to drive an extra 5 miles north to Gualala and pick up the keys, also when you return them. If you need groceries or anything though there is a nice market there. And the description failed to mention that when you stay at Sea Ranch you have access to their rec area (tennis courts, pool and sauna) which we did not know until we arrived at the Vacation rental office. They also informed us that there is a strict 2 car parking policy at each house at Sea Ranch, which turned out to not be the case and only after we had to shuffle cars and park in a distant lot we were tracked down by the local police for leaving "abandoned" vehicles and given written warnings. Our extra two vehicles were close to getting ticketed which no one wants to deal with when they are staying at a vacation rental. The woman at the rental office said she would clarify that, seems to be a miscommunication between sea ranch and their office. Overall a lovely weekend and I would recommend the place.

The house was comfortable and in perfect condition. Everything was as described and pictured on the website. It's a very large house with comfortable communal spaces and dining seating for 8-10 people. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the house was very clean with a couple of minor exceptions. (The only sponge in the kitchen was mildewed and stinky, and the table hadn't been wiped clean.) Nice view of the field with ocean in the distance. Very private yard. Short walk to Shell Beach. Our only complaint concerns the management company. We had the wrong information in our packet (it was for another house), and the keys had to be picked up and returned to the management office in Gualala. From our house this entailed an extra 10 minute drive each way.
