The Coastal Nest - Stay for 5!

We spent a lovely Christmas here thanks to Franny and Luke being amazing hosts! The place was extremely clean and tidy, kitchen was stocked for all cooking needs, perfect for a family getaway! Franny and Luke were very helpful with check-ins along the way to make sure everything from check in to check out was easy!

While most people use a rental for business or a vacation, we came to Scarborough for a family emergency. We stayed 12 nights and felt like we were truly in a private, comfortable and attractive home. The kitchen was large and I was able to make and serve a Thanksgiving meal with ease. The bathroom was updated but still had the charm of its old roots. The bedrooms felt the same, with nice linens, decor and of course, great mattresses. I loved the large picture windows in the living room that overlooked the pristine neighborhood below our second story. Snow fell several days and I felt like I was looking at a snow globe! I used the laundry area a couple of times and it was very neat and adequate . I noticed a lot of outdoor amenities/items stored there and I smiled because I’m sure someone in the summer had everything they needed for the beach. Our hosts checked in a couple of times and were gracious to let us stay 2 additional hrs. Will be back if we need to be in the future!

We had a wonderful stay here. The home is so cute and comfortable. The views out the window in the fall are gorgeous. I loved sitting on their comfy couch in the morning sipping my coffee, watching the birds in the tree and enjoying the fall foliage. Of course, there's so much to do in Maine in the fall. We had the absolute best trip! We had some trouble with the sign in on the door, it wouldn't open for us. But were were helped very quickly and provided a great solution. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for providing such a great spot to stay!

We had a wonderful time here. The apartment was extremely clean and comfortable, every detail thought-through but not cluttered. One of the biggest pluses for us was an empty, spotless refrigerator! Fair warning that there is a flight of stairs to climb to reach the Nest but not unlike stairs in most 2-story homes. The added amenities (bikes, grills, beach chairs, etc.) were a wonderful plus as was the proximity to shopping and the beach! Thank you, Franny and Luke for a wonderful stay!

This place was perfect for our brief visit in the Portland area. It was comvient to all the various locations we visited, quiet, and well put together for my family. This is a nice find if you can book it. Close to the beach and natural areas as well.

Great place to stay 1 mile from beautiful public beach! It’s connected to another house, but completely separate entrance and driveway. Didn’t hear the neighbors at all. They had everything you need for the beach. Place was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable—Felt like tempurpedic. Kitchen was great, lacking a few odds and ends, but overall perfect for a weekend getaway. Tv remote was a little tricky to use—I’d imagine people not good with technology would give up trying to use it. Tap water tastes yucky, so I’d suggest bringing your own bottled water to drink. Hosts were super responsive and accommodating! Amazing old school ice cream shop on the corner of route 1 “Dairy Corner” 10/10 recommend if you have a sweet tooth! Would stay here again any day!

we loved the space - calm relaxing, had everything we needed - bicycles, beach chairs, beach towels, washer, dryer, well stocked kitchen including spice rack. Was very easy to get to the beach. Also close to the Audubon Center so I was able to kayak several times. Would definitely come back again.

The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood, beautifully furnished and convenient to nearby attractions and the shore. It was a welcome respite following a hot day at the baseball stadium for a tournament. It had everything you could possibly think of, plus many special touches. Franny reached out to make sure check-in went smoothly. Highly recommend!!!

Everything was wonderful during our stay. Granny and Luke did a great job keeping in touch prior to and during our stay. Made us feel very welcome. Location was perfect. The bikes were an added bonus! Would certainly stay at this location again. Wonderful hosts.

The apartment was just as we expected. It was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for my family of 3. Host was very responsive with any questions or concerns we had. The place is close to plenty of activities and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

We had a wonderful stay. The home is in a fantastic location, not too far from everything but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. The owner was very thoughtful with the amenities and had everything we needed. I appreciate the excellent communication and check ins to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in the area. The home is extremely comfortable, well appointed, and meticulously maintained. Communication with the property managers was easy and prompt. We appreciated having a full kitchen to prepare some meals, close proximity to beaches, shopping, and all that the Scarborough/Portland/Old Orchard Beach area has to offer. In addition to what is shown in the listing photos, each bedroom has a chest of drawers and sturdy luggage rack. Guests also have access to closets in the bedrooms and cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom, allowing you to unpack and settle in. While the AC is via three window units and two silent standing fans, we were comfortable during a week of temperatures up to 90 degrees.

The communication was amazing, i had everything i needed for my stay. From the moment i walked in, it was the so beautifully setup to be relaxing and comforting. I would most definitely recommend and would stay again without question.
