Wow wow wow, what a beautiful getaway from city noise. Place was very clean and quiet and included all amenities that made the stay so relaxing and peaceful. Kids enjoyed the backyard snow and had a blast. Jacuzzi was fully operational and relaxing. There’s a small marketplace about a mile away that made it convenient to get last minute items. House is beautiful and roomy and cozy and host did a great job overall with creating a memorable experience. House is exactly as described. I would highly recommend this place for a quiet get away.

Place was perfect for two of us and our husky. House is quite nice and has everything you'd need to be comfortable for a small group or family. Backyard was perfect for the dog to roam safely with a huge hot tub. Neighborhood was super quiet and walkable to some convenient stores and the lake. Only about 25 mins to/from Palisades and super close to Homewood if that's your thing. Zero issues getting in or out for the rental process. LOVE that there wasn't a list of 200 things to do for check-out. Gas fireplace made some annoying noises when heating but it went away after a while. Open gate in the backyard couldn't be close due to snow so had to block it for the dog. Both minor issues, would stay here again 100% for a ski trip.

Thank you, Michael, for your wonderful feedback! I'm thrilled to hear you and your husky enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your insights and look forward to welcoming you back for another ski trip soon!

Nice place close to lake shore and Palisades ski resort, quiet location away from the highway. Ample of parking space, convenient living room and bedrooms, great place for staying with family and kids.

We enjoyed our stay, the location is really nice and we found a short cut through Sugar Pine State Park campground that leads down to the lake. They are building a house across the street so construction was happening all week, in case renters want a heads up.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the location and the shortcut through Sugar Pine State Park—it’s a hidden gem! We appreciate you giving us a heads-up about the construction across the street and understand how that could impact the stay. Regarding the maintenance and cleanliness concerns you raised, we take these very seriously and want you to know that the unit has since been deep cleaned. We are currently in the process of checking the washer and dryer and arranging for carpet cleaning to further improve the unit. We truly appreciate your understanding during these challenges and your effort to stay positive. Your input helps us improve, and we hope to welcome you back for a much better experience in the future!

The cabin was perfect! Prior reviews stated that the couch had pet hair on it and that it was a little dirty, I did not find this to be the case at all! The cabin was spotless, gorgeous, and we had so much fun while we were there. The hot tub was working and very clean. I would absolutely stay here again!!

Peaceful, quiet neighborhood. Decent location, just not "in the mix", but we enjoyed the family feel. The house needs some attention. Dust bunnies flew off the ceiling fan all week and onto the kitchen island. Baseboards in upstairs bathrooms need cleaning. The couch is absolutely unacceptable with large tears/holes in the upholstery and the cushions completely worn out. Large, black stains on the carpets in the downstairs bedrooms felt dirty. Not enough bath towels for the 6 person occupancy. Beach towels weren't found til later in the week in one of the downstairs bedroom closets. Not enough toilet paper either. Bear boxes/trash was full upon arrival. The refrigerator took over 12 hours to properly cool our food, if you have meat/dairy your food might not fair well that first day, old appliance. Christmas decorations greet you at the front door, odd for a July stay. Gives reference to the lack of attention to detail. While I was given a small refund, it wasn't enough.

We enjoyed staying at the house with our dog. House was clean and spacious. Carpets are stained - but overall the floors were vacuumed and clean. Beds were comfortable. There are lots of board games and cards to play games. The kitchen is well stocked. Washer and dryer work well. We used the deck outside - it gets good morning and afternoon sun. Careful with the front deck, as railing needs some attention. We would stay here again.

Pros: the house looked exactly like the photos. There were no big surprises and everything was clean enough. Cons: the couch has so much dog hair. Brought it up with the host and they said they’ll get back to me… which resulted in nothing happening since they did not respond further. They were also really slow to communicate through the Airbnb app and not only that, it felt like I was talking to an AI. Overall, it wasn’t all that bad. Besides the cons, they had everything that I needed but for the pricing, I wish they were a little more prompt in their response and following up on concerns customers may have had.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear the home met your expectations and was well-stocked for your stay. We appreciate you bringing the issue with the couch to our attention. Your experience with communication is noted, and we're actively working to improve both our responsiveness and follow-through to ensure concerns are addressed more promptly. Your input is valuable, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a smoother stay in the future.

We originally got this home because we thought we might have to bring our dogs. This home allows dogs! We didn't end up bringing ours, but the backyard is perfect if you do and they have a dog bed on the front deck as well. Very nice! The carpets on the 1st floor bedrooms are a bit rough, but hey you can have your dogs! The home is tucked back in a very nice neighborhood. You zig-zag your way back to it. We did see a bear tear off the door of a trash box down the street, so make sure you leave NO food in your car as advised. The house is nice and convenient if your doing anything from Tahoe City to say Emerald Bay - all close by. The opening/closing of the house could not be any easier. 2 Car garage if you need it, you have access by opening it from inside. We stayed over the holiday weekend and it was quiet and enjoyable

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and found the home comfortable and convenient for your Tahoe adventures. While you didn’t end up bringing your dogs, it’s great to hear you appreciated the pet-friendly setup—we try to make our four-legged guests feel just as welcome! Thank you also for the note about the carpets; we’re always looking for ways to improve and will keep that in mind. And yes, the local wildlife is definitely a part of the Tahoe experience—thanks for sharing the reminder about food safety! We hope to welcome you back soon for another amazing stay!

The home was easy to find and in a perfect location with easy access to Emerald Bay or South Lake Tahoe on one side and Tahoe City on the other side. The instructions and directions were very clear. The home was inviting inside and outside. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub outside was a great add but it didn’t work while we were there and the service scheduled was far out. But the host was kind enough to acknowledge the situation and issued some refund. Overall it was a great experience and if one were to choose Tahoma highly recommend this place as it is felt like home and easy access to so many attractions nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at the Alpine Gem! It backs up to Sugarpine State Park and the beach was an easy one mile walk. They have kayak and paddle board rentals there which was fun. The neighborhood was quiet. The house was set up nicely and exactly how it's shown in the photos. The only note is that the only way into the backyard is through the downstairs bedrooms so just be aware of that. The management company was very responsive to a few things that were damaged when we arrived. Also note that my adult children were downhill biking at Northstar which was 45 minutes away!
