Shining Shire - Sauna, steam shower, very cool!

Very cozy home. Looked beautiful in the snow which is exactly the reason we came. The projector movie room was amazing and the sauna. Great experience, would come again

We had a great stay. The cabin comfortably hosts six guests, and the tri-level layout was a big plus for added privacy. The amenities were excellent—we loved the sauna and steam room, plus the thoughtful touches like games, books, and outdoor equipment. We cooked most of our meals and found the kitchen well equipped. Clear instructions were provided for everything, the surround sound was a fun bonus, and the home was spotless and beautifully furnished—better in person. A couple notes for future guests: there are no extra towels for the sauna/steam, so plan accordingly, and you’ll want to bring basics like butter, oil, seasonings, and coffee. Overall, a great stay and our first professionally managed Airbnb—my husband booked a return for February!

We had an incredible stay at this cozy cabin! The amenities were amazing, including the sauna, steam room, cinema projector screen, and beautifully designed spaces across all three floors. The staff were kind and responsive. The cabin was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and it came well-stocked with games and everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The peaceful setting and stunning craftsmanship made it a perfect getaway for our group. I could not recommend this cabin more. We had an unforgettable experience at Shining Shire and cannot wait to return!

Had a stupendous stay and we'd highly recommend! We look forward staying here on our next trip. The location was very ideal to what we were looking for: peaceful, relaxing, and yet not too far from all the outdoor activities Lake Tahoe has to offer. This place has an upscale feel while still maintaining the charm of a cozy cabin in the woods. The sauna and steam rooms were an excellent relaxing time. We have nothing negative to say about this place as there were none. Again, would highly recommend!

We loved this home. We enjoyed having our space right outside the hustle and hustle but close enough to everything we needed! We went for our baby moon and did maternity shoot at Kiva beach (beautiful and lots of dogs if you're dog ppl which we are) and about a 45 min drive to Sand Harbor (go kayak here) and emerald bay is about 25 minutes. We enjoyed the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool tubs. The beds accommodate different preferences of types (one memory foam and more firm and a few softer types) The kitchen was great to cook our meals in and as a home base. It was just my husband and I but would comfortably fit 3 couples or a bigger family. We will definitely be back. I did lots of research b4 booking and I absolutely am happy with my choice to stay here. One thing that I think is important to note, one reason I chose south lake tahoe, is that I wanted a place that was more diverse and inclusive and south lake tahoe was! Loved everything about our stay and vacation!

We stayed with our 2 young children and 2 small dogs. The house was spacious and clean. Kitchen set up with everything you need. Bottom floor has an amazing space including a poker table, theater, sauna and steam room. Go up one flight to the beautiful kitchen, 2 bedrooms, dining area and living room. Up one more flight of stairs and you have another bedroom that is a loft with a full bath. Highly recommend this stay! The response time was fast from Grand Welcome and we appreciated their professional courtesy.

This incredible house was immaculate! Super squeaky clean. Everything is so well kept and clean that you almost feel that you are the first guest. The house is spectacular, just like the photos just better in person! The kids absolutely loved the house. I think the only complaint I have is that the towels had a very funky smell. However, this house is so well equipped that I just got all the towels in the house and washed them with the washer/dryer and soap available. Some still had a weird smell so if you are sensitive to smell, bring your own. Also, the house has pretty much everything except for coffee! Bring your coffee if you need to drink when you wake up or do what we did, enjoy new coffee spots! Fun! We were bummed that the theater room didn’t work because that was a big reason we went for this house, but we played board games and went out instead. Would we stay at this house again? Absolutely. I think we will search for this house before booking next time. Thank you!!!

beautiful house to fit 6 people. The steam shower was a very nice add on to the house. The house is very thoughtfully decorated and comes with amazing features like sauna, steam shower and surround sound throughout the house. However lot of stairs so keep that in mind if you are visiting with elderly/kids.

This is a wonderful place to space. It feels very open and spacious, with lots of modern updates. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the appliances were in great shape. There is a lot a windows and glass so it really has excellent light. The entry-level is a great game room. There is a poker table, lots of board/card games, a theater, a sauna, and a steam shower. The location is also great, just the main room. Far enough to be quiet, but close enough you can get around. Lots of space around the house and in the neighborhood. We came for skiing, but we want to come back in the summer when we can enjoy the decks!

Loved our stay at this home! Exactly like the photos and the sauna and steam shower were amazing! We used it every night. Also love that there's separate places to hang out so would be great for a group of friends or family. The kitchen was more stocked in terms of gadgets + cutlery/dishware + more than basic spices, which was nice. The rooms were all well appointed and the linens felt luxurious. I will note that the beds were softer, but fine for me (I'm usually someone with a sensitive back and prefer harder beds), so no problem but just something to note. We really appreciated the ev charger in the garage. You could probably park two smaller cars or one larger car in there, since there is a lot of gear (neatly placed) inside. My group would definitely return. They did note this in the listing but esp in the winter when it snows, be careful about letting your dogs out since the fencing isnt very sturdy/tall. Would keep your dog on leash unless they have great recall.

This has been an incredible stay for my husband’s birthday weekend. They communicate incredibly well and helped us immediately when we reached out with help. I love that they have texting capabilities, since that’s my most favorite way to communicate. Their emails were thorough so I knew exactly what to expect. Clean house that has been thoughtfully built and decorated- good for a family or intimate friends trip! Went with our friends, their two kids (3 and 2 y/o) and our two dogs. Didn’t even need to go somewhere to play in the snow- lots of options in the front and side yard. We used the grill and had a nice staycation. All amenities were as stated and the kids enjoyed the toys the rental provided! After a day in the snow.. it was nice to curl up by the fire and warm up. One tip.. if going with kids or older dogs who can’t be around stairs, bring two sets of barrier /baby gate that’s about 3 feet wide to block off the stairs, as it’s a 3 level house.Hope to stay again! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL HOME!My family of four spent five days at this rental for my son's 21st birthday. We wanted a place that was close enough to Tahoe so we could enjoy the town when we wanted, but also removed from the hustle and bustle. The location was perfect! We looked at so many rentals before deciding on this home. When you book a place to stay, you hope for the best. I can say when we entered this home our expectations were exceeded. It was beautiful, yet comfortable and cozy. We cooked the majority of our meals in and there was not one single thing we needed that this home didn't have. That was such a plus. We even saw a Mama Bear walking down the road AND her cub playing right off the deck where we bbq'd! If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation house just a few minutes from town that comes fully stocked with everything you could need - this is the place!
