Abbey Springs Resort Condo with Golf Cart

My family of four enjoyed our stay. Located in a private community, we took advantage of the pool and cafe on site. The golf cart was essential to get around the neighborhood and accessing the pool and beach. The beach is really small so we opted to go to the nearby Fontana beach. Abbey Springs was also conveniently located to other towns and sites around Lake Geneva. The condo itself has the basic amenities which worked for our short stay. Beds were comfortable. It is in a wooded part of the property so there are bugs and not a lot of natural light. Some fixes would make this five stars: fixing loud doors, replacing shower curtain liner, addressing bug issue from the sink

For the price, the host needs to put in some work/ amenities. 1. Master bedroom door is exceptionally loud, wakes everyone up if opened or closed. Other bedroom door does the same. 2. 5 people staying 5 days and only had one very small hotel sized travel shampoo and conditioner on arrival. We went and bought our own which, was lame. 3. Living room couch smelled like a dog. 4. Cooking ware: need cooking pot lids 5. Couldn’t access the beach because we didn’t rent the golf cart: we couldn’t park our car near the beach because we weren’t owners we were told and it’s much too far to walk with children down steep and narrow roads without side walks. 6.Other air bnb’s much less than this price range usually have snacks and drinks / welcome set up available. Not required but that’s part of a 5 star service review to us now.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Shelby. We were just a message away and would have been happy to swing by to address the door squeaks, drop off extra supplies, etc. The golf cart was also included with the rental. Thanks for the suggestions for improving upon the provided coffee, waters, etc.

We had so much fun on our long weekend trip. Golf cart made getting around the resort super fun and easy. It was a nice getaway to check out of our busy life for a few days. Our host was very responsive and helpful, the condo was extremely clean and welcoming.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Welcome Lake Geneva. The house had everything we could have needed. The hosts were extremely responsive and informative. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the golf cart worked well. The kid's room even had toys, books, and other thoughtful items. We loved the area. The house was in a complex at the end of a street, and was extremely quiet/peaceful. We look forward to coming back in the future.

Having once had a home and boat in Abbey Springs, it was nice to spend 8 days there. Abbey Springs is a great place. The unit was clean, neat, comfortable. It is small—800 SF—but adequate for 2 adults and a small dog. No drawers to unpack or closets to hang clothes. There is an outdoor grill which was great and a golf cart, which needs maintenance. The 3 inside doors do not close, scrape the floor and squeak. There are very basic kitchen supplies but no tops for pots, no salad mixing bowls, etc. All appliances worked. I asked the management company if there was an iron. There wasn’t so they delivered one. Except for that, the management company Grand Welcome Lake Geneva was a pain to deal with and not helpful. Before I was accepted to rent the unit, I had to send a copy of my drivers license and an immediate selfie to prove I was the one pictured on the license. I have rented VRBO properties before and NEVER did this. Whenever I asked questions about the property or my reservation, I was told they would send information 3 days before arrival.There was the TV issue. TV used an internet source I never heard of. Not cable. No concurrent live TV. No network channels like ABC, CBS, NBC etc. No cable channels like CNN, Fox News, ESPN, Golf channel etc. I contacted the company many times frustrated on how to navigate the system. I was told to take it or leave. This was a spur-of-the-moment rental which was the only one available. With more time, other options are available.
