Dating back to the early 1900's, the historical significance of the Hayloft serves as a complement to Lake Geneva's already interesting past. Originally the Loramoor Estate, the once owner, James R. Moore used the main house as his personal getaway from Chicago. An avid horseman, he converted one of the outbuildings to stables with apartments on the upper level to house his horse caretakers and built other structures on the property including living quarters, greenhouses, and an icehouse. At one point, there were 140 men employed at the property. Sadly, the main house met its end in the 1980s, and many of the buildings have been converted to personal homes. The stables have since been restored to be the beautiful Hayloft Lodge we know today. Although some aspects have changed, much of the historical charm lives on!

The resort city of Lake Geneva offers excitement for any age. Whether you’re an adventure-seeker, love to explore nature, or immerse yourself in the arts, Lake Geneva has it all! Local beaches include Big Foot Beach State Park, with trails and picnic areas. The Lake Geneva Shore Path is over 20 miles long and offers views of historical estates on one side with clear blue waters and tranquil views on the other. You’ll be sure to catch sight of a sailboat or antique vessel as they drive by across the pristine waters. Be sure to time your evening right to catch a stunning sunset from anywhere along the shore path. With so many things to do and see, you’ll want to visit Lake Geneva over and over again!

Great experience at this immaculate room in the historic Hayloft. Ideal for a couple though sofa would be comfortable as a bed. Location was 3.6 miles from downtown. Tall guests may need to watch out for the low hanging entry into bedroom:) Hosts were responsive and understanding for late check out Thank you !

Was a great place to work and stay for the week. It is on the second floor with no elavator and lots of stairs if someone wasn’t able to take the stairs. Very great hosts and I would definitely stay again.

Very cute place with all the amenities needed for my two week stay for work. Kitchen had all the necessary items to prepare and serve meals. I was traveling solo and this was perfect. It would be just fine for a couple also, but any more and it might be a bit crowded. I was there early season so pool was not open, but the pool and patio area was looked very welcoming.

We appreciate your thoughtful note about the size—you're right, it's a cozy fit best suited for one or two guests. Sorry you missed out on the pool, but we're happy to hear the patio area still made a good impression. We'd love to welcome you back anytime! Tim & Bethany
