Snorkeling

Hawaii’s warm waters make snorkeling a popular activity any time of the year.  While there are a handful of spots to snorkel around Waikiki, some of the best spots are located further away.  Here are some of our recommended spots to visit to see mesmerizing underwater views from vibrant fish to colorful corals.

San Souci Beach

This is a wonderful option if you’re looking for a close snorkel spot to town.  During a higher tide, you can enjoy floating above the reef to watch the fish and coral below.

Hanauma Bay

This destination is great for a day trip with its many activities available.  This protected marine life conservation is managed by the State of Hawaii, so there is a small entry fee of $7.50 for visitors.  After a short safety and education video guests will have access to the beach and blue waters. You’ll be sure plenty of ocean life from the Humu humu nuku nuku apua’a, wrasse, parrot fishes, and bright corals.

Sharks Cove

If you are able to venture over to the North Shore for the day, Sharks Cove is a popular snorkeling spot during the Summer months.  The inside of the bay is fairly shallow making it great for beginners. Witness the beautiful underwater lava formations and schools of fish.
