IRONMAN 70.3 Hawai’i

IRONMAN 70.3 Hawai’i has been held in Hawaii since 1978.  A series of Ironman triathlon qualifications are held throughout the world leading to IRONMAN 70.3 Hawai’i.  This year’s event will be held on October 12, 2018.

Hawaii’s beautiful venue for the triathlon beings at Hapuna Beach State Park with an open-ocean swim.  Hapuna Beach State Park is a renowned beach with crystal blue water and a white sandy beach.  Following the swim is a bike course along the Queen Ka ‘ahumanu and Akoni Pule Highways.  Bikers reach their turn around point once they have cycled to the northern town of Hawi.  Hawi’s small town feel is complete with boutiques, shopping, dining, and galleries.  The cyclists continue their path through black lava fields, Hawaiian temples, and more.  The run begins at Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii.  This windy path leads through the Mauna Lani Resort offering lush golf courses, petroglyph fields, and the Ala Loa Foot trail.

Athletes make their way to the finish line back at The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii.  The hotel provides a post-race lawn party and championship slot allocations are announced.
