Wineries and Breweries for All Tastes

With over 20 local wineries and breweries within the vicinity of Blue Ridge, this area has quickly become popular for its outstanding local craft drink options, just a few of which we’ll mention here.

Bear Claw Vineyards, a local favorite, is just four miles from Blue Ridge, featuring sweeping vineyards that provide the grapes made into the wines available onsite. Unlike many other vineyards, Bear Claw is both kid and dog friendly. Live music on the weekends can be enjoyed from their tasting room and patio.

At the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and located just outside the more southern city of Dahlonega is the Cavender Creek Vineyards. Visitors can explore the grounds and beautiful scenery and take in delicious samples of wine in the tasting room which is open seven days a week.

If beer is more your drink of choice, the small brewery of Grumpy Old Men Brewing located right on Main Street in downtown Blue Ridge specializes in small-batch beer. With an eccentric tap room filled with unique furniture made from everyday objects and a large outdoor space with seating and games, you can sit and enjoy your drink fresh out the tap.

Another micro-brewery located in downtown Blue Ridge is Fannin Brewing Company. Specializing in beers influenced by German brewing style, this brewery uses locally sourced ingredients to create their brews and support the local community.

If you’re looking to visit many wineries, consider booking a tour through one of the many local shuttle services, and enjoy your visit responsibly.
