Whitewater Rafting

Whitewater rafting is a fun activity almost anyone can partake in.  Depending on what time of the year and which river you choose, you can enjoy anything from a leisurely float through calm waters to a thrilling adventure on quick rapid waters.  The closest body of water to our Grand Welcome Colorado homes is the Blue River, which runs through the heart of Frisco & Breckenridge.

May through September are the best times to raft in Colorado.  Early Summer months such as May and June typically has the most melting mountain snow, meaning faster currents and an exciting ride.  During peak water cycles many companies may increase the age limit even on family-friendly stretches of water – so be sure to check with your rafting tour company before scheduling.

We highly suggest doing your research for this activity.  Companies offer a variety of trips from all day & camping, half-day adventures, and many even combine with other activities like fly-fishing trips.  Be sure to choose an adventure that is suitable for all ages and abilities in your group.
