Tahoe Woods is an iconic condo complex super close to the casinos and Tahoe Woods Heavenly is one of the best! This luxury condo is walking distance to the casinos and Lakeside public pay-per-day beach. During the Winter months, it is also a short walk from the Gondola where Heavenly Ski Resort can be accessed. Everything is so close here you won’t even need your car! Keep in mind, this condo is on the top floor that is only reached by walking up 3 flights of stairs. Unfortunately they didn’t build an elevator at Tahoe Woods, but we think it’s worth it anyway!

TAHOE WOODS
- BUILDING INFO: We email our guests the gate code, building and unit numbers beforehand so please make sure you get that email before you arrive so you are well prepared.
- NO GARAGE ACCESS: The garage and some of the closets are locked off for owner storage as the family often comes up for long periods of time. There is one assigned spot on the driveway and then plenty of first come, first serve guest parking!
- LAKESIDE BEACH ACCESS: The closest beach charges a daily rate for each person. Tahoe woods is not affiliated with this beach so we don’t have beach passes to give out nor do we control how much they charge. There are plenty of free beaches on the South Shore.
- TOP LEVEL: This home is on the top level. Benefit is not having anyone above you stomping around but the downside is you have to go up 3 flights of stairs to get to the unit. No elevator was built in Tahoe Woods complex.
- NO POOL/HOT TUB: Tahoe Woods was not built with a pool or hot tub so there are no HOA amenities available

TAHOE RENTAL ORDINANCE
The following laws were set forth by the county and apply to every home in Tahoe. They were put in place to keep Lake Tahoe an enjoyable and safe place to visit for years to come! 🙂
1. 10pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all rentals.
2. Trash cannot be left outside and must go into the bear box.
3. We cannot host extra people or allow parties.
4. We cannot accomodate extra cars, parking on the street or dirt.
PLEASE NOTE: Neighbors may alert the police who will issue fines to guests found to be in violation. In order to protect this owner’s permit, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave if this happens.

- QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD: In Tahoe it’s so quiet at night that you could hear a pin drop! As a result, we can only host quieter groups that will abide by all of the county laws. Our guests are normally fine as long as they head inside or to the casinos after 10pm. Appreciate your understanding!
- KEEP TAHOE BLUE: Please help us keep Tahoe a natural wonder by appropriately disposing of trash when visiting our beaches and trails. If you pack it in, please pack it out.

- TRAVEL INSURANCE: We highly recommend that all of our lovely guests purchase travel insurance as we normally do not refund for Covid, smoke, fires, weather, snow storms, road closures, etc. 
- WINTER TRAVEL ADVISORY: After the historic Winter of 2023, we recommend 4WD vehicles with snow tires, tire chains and experience driving in the snow. Emphasis on snow tires. Tahoe roads are icy and power outages are common. Please always wear snow boots and walk with care on icy pathways.
- BBQ/DECKS IN WINTER: Due to snow levels and freezing temps, BBQs are not serviced and decks are not shovelled during the Winter but if you can dig it out and there is propane - feel free to use!
- LATE CHECK OUT: Please let us know 24 hours prior to check out, if you wish to request a late check out. First hour is free then $25/hour after that, not to exceed 1pm. Please note our cleaners sometimes travel for up to 1 hour to clean this home so we ask that you please respect the 10am check out time.
- NO AC: Like most homes in Tahoe, there is no AC but we do provide plenty of fans.
- STARTING SUPPLIES: We provide a starting set of supplies which includes 1 roll of paper towels, 1-2 rolls of TP per bathroom, etc. Depending on your parties usage, you may need more. Please plan to bring more or if you run out, text our local team. t
- HIGH FIRE RISK: Lake Tahoe is a high-risk fire area. Fireworks, wood fire pits, smoking/improper disposal of cigarette butts and charcoal bbq’s are prohibited.
- BLACK BEARS: Black bears inhabit Lake Tahoe and are attracted to food and trash. Always lock your car doors, roll up windows and view from afar. Please do not feed our bears.
- TOWELS: We supply one bath towel, one wash cloth per occupant and then one hand towel per bathroom.
- SECURITY: Most of our homes have exterior-only security cameras and noise decibel monitoring systems to ensure we are in compliance with the county ordinance but we take our guests privacy VERY seriously. There is never indoor cameras. Most owners only look to see bears and snow levels at their homes 🙂
- MOUNTAIN CRITTERS: It’s not uncommon at any home in Tahoe to find little mountain mice, spiders, spider webs, ants, mosquitos, etc. Our homes have on-going extermination services but despite our best efforts, these little critters might make their way inside. If found it doesn’t mean a home is dirty, let us know and we will do our best to mitigate such findings.

WINTER TRAVEL ADVISORY
A storm in Tahoe can drop up to 2 feet or more in 24 hours so if you haven’t been to Tahoe during a heavy Winter, please take note. The roads and driveways in Tahoe are only plowed when snow accumulates to more than 6 inches so if it snowed less than that or you are coming during an active storm, you will arrive to snow on the roads leading up to this home AND on the driveway. Since street parking is not allowed during the Winter, you will need to drive over the snow either using chains or with your 4WD engaged (or both) and onto the driveway. There are also shovels provided for shoveling. Especially after the historic Winter of 2023, we do not recommend coming to Tahoe unless you have a higher clearance 4WD vehicle with snow tires, tire chains and experience driving in the snow. Always bring chains no matter what kind of car you have. Even if it’s not actively snowing, Tahoe roads are steep and icy. Power outages are also common. The Grand Welcome difference is we have a very experienced local team who are here to help you during your stay – as long as safety allows. If we can get to you, we will come help! Not all hosts have this kind of local support so this is the benefit to booking a Grand Welcome home!

House rules

  1. By booking this home you agree to the county rental laws and the following house rules. Failure to abide by any of the below items may result in an eviction with no refund. We don’t like doing it but in order to keep our owners rental permits intact, sometimes it has to be done. Vast majority of our guests have no issue but every once in a while we do get a rowdy group. We do our best to communicate with you long before it leads to an eviction so please have your booking cell phone on you during your stay. Message us if you have any questions or concerns and we appreciate your understanding on the matter 🙂
  2. COUNTY LAWS & HOUSE RULES
  3. Must be 25 or older to book this home.
  4. Strictly no hot tub use after 10pm - only if applicable!
  5. 10pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all all rentals.
  6. Trash goes into the bear box only and is not to be left outside.
  7. We cannot host extra people or allow parties.
  8. No extra cars, parking on the street OR on the dirt.
  9. No smoking on the premises and especially no flicking cigarette butts.
  10. No open flame fires, fire works, bonfires, etc - due to high fire risk.
  11. No yelling, blasting music, fighting or other loud noise that could disturb the neighbors.
  12. No pets unless the home is specifically pet friendly. We do host service animals unless the owners are allergic as it is then a health and safety issue. Please contact us to double check.
  13. The number of overnight occupants shall not exceed two persons per permitted bedroom. Children six years of age or older are counted towards the occupancy limits.
  14. DAMAGE
  15. You are covered for any accidental damage and then anything seen as neglectful, you will be charged. It’s best to report all damage to us right away so the appropriate measures can be taken. If you treat this home as if it were your own, then you should be fine.

Check in was lame; property was ideal

Of course you couldn’t check in until 4:01 on the dot; then the code was wrong, then it took 20 minutes to get in touch with management. Beyond this the property was great; centrally located; maybe a bit too far to be called walking distance from gondola in ski gear

Great place — Unit downstairs has a LOUD home theatre system!

My family and I have stayed in this unit multiple times, and usually, we have an excellent time here. Well, during this visit, our experience wasn't the best. 1. On our first night, we were woken up in the middle of the night by an incredibly aggressive drunk girl vigorously ringing our doorbell. I talked/yelled at her through the door as I was too alarmed to open the door. (This was very alarming as I had my family inside.) She cursed and kept ringing the bell even though I told her to go away. She finally went to the unit across the hall and began ringing their doorbell until she gave up and stumbled out of the building. WOW! 2. The people that stayed in the unit below ours kept their tv sound on at MAXIMUM! It sounded like an AMC movie theatre down there! It was pretty clear that they have a home theatre system. So, all weekend, we had the pleasure of hearing/feeling the sound from the unit downstairs. This statement is not an exaggeration, their TV was incredibly loud, and it seemed like the tenants watched movies all weekend. When we left, we were exhausted and relieved to be away from the chaos.

This property is clean, modern, and spacious! The only small drawback to this unit is that you have to climb 3 sets of stairs to get to it. If you have many bags with you, this will be a good workout. Also, the living room tv appears to be tied to a dedicated Google account that keeps you from using your own Youtube TV account.

The best 21st possible

We stayed at this property for our daughter's 21st birthday. The location was much better than I was even expecting. It is a small walk (5 minutes) to downtown South Lake Tahoe and an 8 minute drive to Zepher Cove beach. There was plenty of room for all of us and all the comforts of home. We did have some difficulty (three different codes) trying to get into the place but it worked eventually. I would strongly recommend this property to anyone who has no mobility issues.

Ski trip in Lake Tahoe

It was all good. The condo was immaculate. The televisions in every room was spectacular! As we enter the TV in every room was on with the fireplace station. Never seen that and it was perfect for the Tahoe sking trip. We all had a great time except for the stairs. Not for disabled people . Only made reference because we have a handicapped daughter. This trip was not for her. It was a great trip and we definitely want to go in the summer. Very grateful, The Calderoni family

Good location nice condo

Good location nice condo, everything was hell ad appears however I would not stay in the same unit again I will try to look for a downstairs unit. The person underneath me knocked on my door twice to complain about noise. It was from normal walking around and he was being extremely unreasonable. I don’t know if he’s not used to condo living but there’s a certain amount of noise that goes along with shared walls and upstairs neighbors. I felt like I had to yell at the kids the whole time to quiet down, it wasn’t fair to them because they weren’t doing anything wrong just kids being kids. Other than that the property is great

Good location nice condo

Good location nice condo, everything was hell ad appears however I would not stay in the same unit again I will try to look for a downstairs unit. The person underneath me knocked on my door twice to complain about noise. It was from normal walking around and he was being extremely unreasonable. I don’t know if he’s not used to condo living but there’s a certain amount of noise that goes along with shared walls and upstairs neighbors. I felt like I had to yell at the kids the whole time to quiet down, it wasn’t fair to them because they weren’t doing anything wrong just kids being kids. Other than that the property is great

Beautiful Townhome

Our stay was great, and the home was beautiful. Super close within walking distance to all the busy downtown life, which was fantastic. A few small notes: Would be great for the place to have a can opener, one of the red game pieces for "Sorry Sliders" fell under the pantry door, and the floors were a bit dirty so couldn't walk through the house without socks on.
