Majority of Americans are Traveling this Summer and Spending More

Travelers Turning to Drivable Destinations and Shorter Trips to Save Money

Torrance, California â" April 4, 2023 Grand Welcome, one the fastest-growing short-term vacation rental management franchise, surveyed 1,115 Americans about their summer travel plans. The survey results revealed 80% of respondents are planning a summer vacation within the United States and 41% will spend more than last year despite inflation. To keep travel costs down, 44% of vacationers will drive to their destination, while 35% will go away for less than a week and eat out less.

âœWe are seeing a significant demand for consumer travel this summer, particularly in the form of drivable destinations,â� said Brandon Ezra, CEO of Grand Welcome. âœWith talk of inflation, we are finding American consumers still want to spend top-dollar on their accommodations, but will cut back in other ways to save money.â�

Below you can find some key insights from the survey:

• * Over 46% are traveling to their destination by car.
• * 80% are traveling within the U.S.
• * 31% plan to spend between $501 - $1,000 for their summer vacation.
• * Over 35% are opting for shorter vacations â"  staying in locations for less than a week.
• * 60% of travelers prefer to stay in a vacation rental due to privacy.
• * 67% of respondents will be traveling with their family and 34% with a significant other.
• * Over 35% of travelers will eat out less and do more cooking due to inflation.
