This cozy cabin, located in the heart of Tahoe Donner, is great for a small group of family or friends coming to visit Tahoe. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, just a short drive to Tahoe Donners HOA amenities, Donner Lake, Downtown Truckee, Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, Boreal Mountain California, and the famous Lake Tahoe.
The interior of the home comes equipped with cathedral ceilings, bright windows, and nice lighting, giving the cabin a homey and comfortable feeling. The warm living room has a gas fireplace and a flat screen TV. Gather around after a day on the slopes with some hot chocolate!
The kitchen is well equipped with a toaster, blender, drip coffee maker and more. Enjoy home cooked dinners and relaxing nights in. The patio has a BBQ grill, great for cook outs. Right outside is a picnic table to enjoy the fresh Tahoe air and quiet forest views.
The master bedroom is upstairs and has a Queen bed. There is a Full bed in the loft area and a shared full bathroom. Downstairs, there is a Queen bedroom with another shared bathroom. There is a washer and dryer available in the home for longer visits. There are 2 driveway parking spots right in front of the home.

This property includes 2 guest passes that allow guests to access the Tahoe Donner Association, which offers communal swimming pools, hot tubs, and a sauna; a private beach (summers only), tennis courts, golf course, archery center, mountain bike center, equestrian center, Nordic skiing, downhill ski resort, sledding area, and recreation center with indoor gym and workout equipment. - Parking vehicles off the pavement, on other person’s property/driveway, or on access easements is prohibited.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited on the property, Tahoe Donner facilities, parking lots, and open spaces.
- Trash must be locked up in your bear-proof container, never in your neighbor’s container, or dumped anywhere in Tahoe Donner.
- Camping on private residences is prohibited, including tents, carts, RVs, etc.
- Drone use on Tahoe Donner property, including open space, is prohibited.
- Slow down on Tahoe Donner streets. The speed limit is predominantly 25 MPH. Wildlife, accidents, dogs, and children could require sudden stops.
- Use of Tahoe Donner amenities or facilities after closing, either for the day or season, is prohibited.
- Parties or events of any kind are not allowed.
- Do not move or rearrange the furniture.

Avg ski rental

It isn't fancy, but it isn't bad either. There were a number of home maintenance issues that should be addressed by management company, but nothing catastrophic. Table could use a few more chairs, the kitchen is a little sparse. On the plus, the garage is very large and easily accommodates two cars. It is in the heart of Tahoe Donner community - about 5' to ski base.

Great location

Great location, amenaties should have been more clear, you have to pay for everything because you are a guest of the house. The back door does not have a lock that works and the grill was dirty. The property was perfect for what we needed and had plenty of kitchen ware.

Charming and comfortable

Really sweet home, perfect for one family. We arrived after dark and the house was warm and some lights were on, which felt very cozy and welcoming. Plenty of space in the bedrooms and common areas. Great location.
Two small suggestions:
1. it would be nice to have some board games, puzzles and books available. It would be fun but also will add a homier feeling to the property.
2. the 10am check-out time felt way too early. 11am is pretty standard and having to be out a whole hour earlier made our last morning rushed and stressful.

Nice stay

The house and location were great. The house was as advertised -- clean, comfortable; gas fireplace was easy to use; brightly lit interior; beds were comfortable; wi-fi worked well. The location was great (a close drive to the Tahoe Donner ski resort). No issues with the house.
The reason this place gets 4 stars (maybe even 3) instead of 5 is the property management company (Grand Welcome). They were good with emailing details of payment received and how to check in -- but were unresponsive in all other communication. A few weeks prior to our stay, I asked about a check-out at 11am instead of 10am (both via text and email) -- and received a response that they would consider my request. A few days before my trip, I had not heard anything, so I reached out to them again -- their response was to "rest assured" that the request was being verified, and they will call or leave a message with an update.
I never received a response to my request.
Also, during the stay, it snowed. I wanted to clear a pathway from the entryway to the driveway, and also to dig out some of the snow from the front of my car. There was no snow shovel in the house, but it may have been in an outdoor locked closet on the front porch. I called the property management company to ask if there was a snow shovel available. The operator's response was that a shovel was available in the garage.
This house has no garage.
The operator then promised to investigate this and get back to me.
I never received a response.
If you're looking for a great house and location, this fits the bill. If you're looking for a responsive property management company, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Perfect size for a family of 4 but some issues with the management company

The house was as advertised and in a convenient location. The streets were well plowed during the snow storm and they had someone plow the driveway. The front and backyard areas were great for snow play. The kitchen was furnished with the minimum essentials but we were able to get by with no issues. As indicated in the welcome email, you need to bring everything you'll need for meal preparations (oil, spices, etc).
There seemed to be issues with coordination between the call center and the "on site" team. There were a couple of inquiries such as the availability of dishwashing soap and what time the snow plow would come the day we had to check out that we never heard a response. Note: snow plow didn't come before checkout time so we had to shovel ourselves out. It was nice that they had a text option as well as phone for help but on the phone, always wait to speak to a representative since when we left a message to see if we could get an early check in, we never got a call back. The locks are on a timer to open with your code exactly at your check-in time so no chance to get in if you get there just 10 minutes early like we did.
We had some concerns over cleanliness since there were several bowls in the cupboard with old food caked on them. We had to hand wash everything we used the first night until we could get to a store to get dishwashing liquid since it wasn't provided.
We were also surprised when someone from the onsite staff came by to check on the heat (not by our request but from an inspection earlier that day) entered the home without a mask. The county at the time had an indoor mask policy so we were surprised it wasn't standard practice to wear a mask when entering the home.
We had a power outage a couple of times during our stay but the gas fireplace kept us nice and toasty so it wasn't major issue.
Initially I thought having a management company for rentals would be an advantage but the individual owners I've rented for in the past were more helpful and responsive. We usually don't have many needs but being able to get a definitive answer to our questions is helpful.

Great cabin and location

We loved this cabin and location. The cabin was clean, fully stocked and in a really nice neighborhood. Plenty of space and a really nice layout. The yard is pretty big and the neighbors are all really friendly. It's only a few minutes to the community lounge and a market and downtown Truckee with all it's shops and restaurants are near by. Most importantly, the wifi was great. My husband and I were able to work and use Zoom all day with no issues.

Great Stay - small improvements needed

Had a fantastic stay and was much bigger than expected, having 24-hour service was fanatic as we did have a small issue with the hot water on our first night but fixed it very quickly. I would highly recommend this property to anyone, but there are some updates to the property that I would recommend and people should be aware of.
Security of front and back door needs to be improved, the front door is very week and at night we needed to use the chain as the main lock is weak. The back door only locks with a wood pole but pulled hard enough by anyone easy access can be gained. Also would recommend they re-painting the deck as multiple times paint would get stuck to hands or shoes.

Great Weather and great stay.

We had a very nice time and the cabin was perfect for our family of four. We were spoiled with the weather getting both sun for our ski days and snow for our play days. Would recommend this home and we hope to visit again in the near future.

Quiet get away at Tahoe Donner
